Buckland Ath 2 Broadmeadow 1

Bucks started really nervously with Broadmeadow looking dangerous, Read and Couch stood firm in defence to keep them at bay. With tactics not really working Geden was introduced and the midfield reshuffle produced a goal within minutes. Guilfoyle delayed his pass perfectly for Clenahan to run on to and slot the ball home. The remainder of the half was now all Buckland with B'meadows keeper working overtime to keep the score 1 – 0 at half time.
The second half started exactly the same with a great strike from Norman just missing the top right hand corner. Stevens was introduced back into the game and scored a great goal form the edge of the area to put Bucks well and truly in control of the game. Fox was playing solidly at right midfield and defence when players were switched around. Read was given a rare opportunity in midfield when out of the blue Broadmeadow hit an unstoppable shot which even our Mr Winter couldn't save and B'meadow had a sniff of the draw. The game was taking shape like the reverse fixture earlier in the season and Winter then came under a barrage of strikes from B'meadow but even a boot to the head couldn't stop his heroics in goal. Read and Couch were quickly reintroduced back to defence and the last few minutes where seen out comfortably, indeed Whiting narrowly missed in the last few seconds to make it three.
A quick thanks to all the boys for taking me under their wings and listening to me and doing the opposite!
Joe
